Crescendo crosses the line first

Martin Jacobson and crew aboard Crescendo crossed the finish line in St. David’s earlier this morning to capture both class and overall line honors in this year’s Marion Bermuda Race.

The Class B entry completed the 645-nautical mile race in challenging conditions in an elapsed time of 111 hours, 32 minutes and 13 seconds and crossed the finish line at approximately 5.47 a.m. local time.

The British Virgin Islands boat regained the lead yesterday after local entry, Big Bear, retired with damaged sails.

Taking line honours in Class A earlier today was Cetacea with an elapsed time of 113 hours, 32 minutes and 24 seconds.

The Newport, Rhode Island entry crossed the finish line at 8.02 a.m. this morning.
