Bermuda slip
Bermuda has slipped to 183rd in the latest world rankings issued by soccer's governing body FIFA.
The standings were released earlier this week and showing Bermuda down two places from the 181st spot the country occupied in September.
At the beginning of 2003 Bermuda was in 174th place and although they improved by one spot in February, months without international competition have seen a decline to this latest position.
Bermuda is now sandwiched between Dominica (184) and Guyana (179) in the CONCACAF region.
Montserrat occupy the unenviable position of being both the lowest ranked footballing nation in both CONCACAF and global terms.
Bermuda's highest ranking in the last decade came in 1993 when the Island reached 76th.
At the elite end of the rankings, no fewer than 100 "A" internationals within a month have caused much movement. The top trio are Brazil, France and Spain, with Argentina trailing 30 points behind the Spanish. The crush building up behind though has intensified, with fewer than ten points separating the fourth-placed Argentines and the Czech Republic occupying 11th.
FIFA's standings are based on a statistical analysis of countries' results over eight years, weighted according to how recently the matches were played, the strength of the opponents and the importance of each match.
