Social Club 2 Ham. Parish 4

Hamilton Parish began their season on a winning note but they didn't have things all their own way against Social Club at Bernard Park yesterday.

The home side, their confidence high after last weekend's 4-0 win over Paget, took the lead in the eighth minute through Jamelle Ming. Alvin Baker equalised for Parish from a corner after 24 minutes and were unlucky not to go ahead in the closing moments of the half when a good move started by defender Anthony (Toe) Wilson saw Sean Dill run onto pass and smash his shot against the crossbar from 25 yards.

Three penalties in the second half provided more goals as Parish took the lead in the 55th minute through defender Damon Edwards' spot kick. Lashun Dill made it 2-2 in the 66th minute when, after his initial shot was saved by the diving Dwayne Astwood, he followed up and was tripped in the box. Dill took the penalty himself, tucking the ball into the bottom corner.

Irving Burgess finally put Parish in front to stay in the 76th minute when he found the net with a far post header. Seven minutes from time Sherwin Jennings in the Social Club goal pulled down substitute Pedro Madeiros inside the box. Edwards made certain with his second penalty, again placing his effort to the 'keeper's right.

S.Rangers 1 St.George's 4

St.George's dished out valuable lesson in finishing to Southampton Rangers at Southampton Oval yesterday with this comprehensive 4-1 drubbing.

Though Rangers took a 1-0 lead in the 55th minute, it didn't take long for the visitors to equalise, courtesy of a Detroy Smith strike.

St.George's then forged ahead 20 minutes later through Kenneth Butterfield before Dean Bailey produced the goal of the match, a beautifully struck free kick from outside the box that whistled into the top corner.

David Signor then made it 4-1 before Omari Hart scored a late consolation for Rangers who suffered their second successive home defeat of the new season.

Prospect 0 Paget 0

Paul Towlson hurried a shot over the goal from just six yards out right at the end of this scoreless game at Police Field.

Prospect dominated the first half with John Richmond blowing two chances and Philip Bailey missing one but Paget fought back after the break and controlled play for majority of the second half.
