Hedges injured again after jump off bridge
It?s d?j? vu for Kris Hedges.
Bermuda?s top cyclist has broken his collar bone again and is out of next month?s Caribbean Cycling Championships in which he is the three-time defending time-trial king.
Following the end of the CD&P Bermuda Grand Prix on Sunday, the 24-year-old jumped into the ocean off Watford Bridge in Somerset with friends and suffered a recurrence of the injury which originally sidelined him in July.
His mother, Jennifer, yesterday confirmed the latest setback for her son who helped his French club, VC Pontivy, to first place in the team competition at the Grand Prix.
However, unlike in July when his collar bone was broken in four places, Hedges has only suffered one break this time.
Still, he has been given a six-week lay-off from riding which means he will be unavailable for the mid-October championships at which he was also runner-up in the road race last year.
