Tennis ace Henman diverted to Bermuda
Among those directly affected by yesterday's horrific terrorist attacks in the US was British tennis star Tim Henman who found himself unexpectedly in Bermuda last night.
Henman, who lost to Xavier Malisse of Begium in the US Open last week, was on a British Airways flight from London to Miami which was diverted to the Island because of the US tragedy.
Before booking into the Sonesta Hotel, Henman told The Royal Gazette: "It's terrible , it's just horrendous.
"On the plane we were told there were problems in US airspace but when we touched down we heard it was a lot more dramatic than that. You hear lots of rumours but you don't know what's true."
Henman was travelling to Miami for four days' preparation before playing a Davis Cup match in Ecuador.
