Bailey?s Bay 148
Flatts Victoria 150-5
Irving Romaine hit an impressive 60 but a lack of support from his team-mates cost Bailey?s Bay dear at Sea Breeze Oval yesterday.
Vernon Eve took four wickets in his nine overs as Bay were bowled out for just 148 after a series of collapses left them floundering despite runs from the current national skipper.
And in response it took Flatts just 36 overs to race to the target with Lloyd Fray and national team wicketkeeper and Cup Match returnee Dean Minors providing the backbone of the innings.
Fray raced to 51 while Minors made 30 not out to give his side a comfortable victory in a match that never threatened to be too competitive after a weak showing from the majority of the Bay bats and dangerous bowling from Eve.
The win should move Flatts off the bottom of the table while Bay suffered a third straight loss and another poor performance following their 101-run thumping at the hands of Somerset last Sunday.
