Lightbourne on target
Kyle Lightbourne's 12th goal of the season earned a valuable point for Macclesfield Town on Saturday, but they should have had all three.
The Silkmen, battling to avoid the drop into non-league football, drew 1-1 with Cambridge in the Third Division clash - a result that saw them move to 18th place out of 24 teams on 44 points. The bottom two clubs go down.
Lightbourne opened the scoring in the 41st minute, crashing home a left-foot shot from the edge of the box off the underside of the bar.
But Macclesfield went to sleep in the 67th minute, allowing Omar Riza to grab Cambridge a share of the spoils via one of his side's two attempts on goal.
Shaun Goater was an unused substitute as Manchester City went down to a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Bolton in the Premiership on Saturday. Boss Kevin Keegan made a triple substitution in the second-half but opted to leave Goater on the bench.
