Two records fell while entries were up by 50 percent over last year as the 2003 KPMG Junior Running Series concluded on the track at the National Sports Centre on Saturday.

The first record to fall was no surprise as Trey Simons ran a blistering four minutes and 56 seconds in the 8-10 boys' 1500 metres, clipping 12 seconds of the old mark set by Ryan Hopkins in 2001.

The second record went to Front Street mile champion Flora Duffy in the girls' 13-15 3,000 metres.

Duffy eclipsed Shardae Whitter's 1999 time of 11.59 by some eight seconds.

Eight-year-old Jazmine Outerbridge claimed her second consecutive series victory in the 8-10 girls, while Danlia Martin confirmed her supremacy in the 11-12 girls, winning her 1500m event comfortably.

Taijuan Talbot won the 13-15 boys' 3000m to complete his perfect record of five victories in this year's series. Nahki Wells' victory in the 11-12 boys' 1500m was his fourth of the series.

Final series standings will be published in the near future along with the date of the prize presentation.
