Fixture changes causing confusion
First they were supposed to play Canada and then it changed to Argentina and Wednesday night - just hours before they went to bed - Bermuda's cricketers found out they would indeed be playing Canada yesterday in the Americas Cup.
Such mix-ups have abounded over fixtures in recent days in the tournament being played in Argentina that, according to Bermuda's team manager Tom Wainwright, all six participating countries are "confused".
"We were on our way to a function when we heard (we were playing Canada). What's happened is that the organisers have changed the schedule and it's confusing to us. You set your mind to play a certain team tomorrow and then just before the game you find out it's a different story," he said.
Wainwright said there had been all-round discontent at this state of affairs and he expected this to be strongly reflected in the post-tournament reports to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
"When we get back (home) all the managers have to put in reports to the ICC and that will be one criticism," noted the manager, adding that no official had come forward to explain the changes in fixtures.
