Hockey great Brad on course for title
After three rounds of the annual Founder?s Trophy Tournament at Mid Ocean Club, the leaders have distanced themselves from the field.
As the temperatures dropped yesterday so did the scores for both the gross and net leaders.
Peter Cook Sr and his partner, former ice hockey great Brad Park of the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers, are now six shots clear in the net division after after a fine third round of 63.
Bob Danahy and Gregory Michaud, also from Massachusetts, shot a third round 65 and will need a very low round on the final day today to catch the leaders.
In the gross division, Malcolm Gosling Jr of Bermuda and Jim Murray from California lit up Mid Ocean Club yesterday with seven birdies and two bogeys for a five-under 66.
They now stand a whopping eight shots clear of the father/son combination of Bob and Rob McMenimon who returned 74 yesterday.
Gosling and Murray will be going after their second title, their last coming in 1996.
The final round begins this morning at 7.00 under a two-ball best-ball format.
