Soulfire summit set to blast off

The seventh annual Soulfire Youth Summit hosted by Radnor Road Christian Fellowship promises to be ten times greater than before, according to youth pastor Daren Lowe.

"This year we have called it the `Soulfire 10x Summit' because Daniel said his peers who committed themselves to the Lord were ten times greater," pastor Lowe said.

With a series of events kicking off on Thursday, pastor Lowe said this year, instead of just focusing directly on the youth, the conference will include a workshop for parents.

"We wanted to address some parenting issues and how they can effective communicate with their teens," pastor Lowe said. "We want this to be a time of interaction so that parents do not feel like they are on their own in this day and age."

The guest speaker for the Parents and Leaders Seminar is Pastor Tyus Nedd, who hails from Columbus, Ohio. He is the founder of Destiny Ministries, an organisation utilised as a launching pad for youth of various ethnic backgrounds.

Pastor Nedd, who has worked with the youth world-wide for the past 20 years, strongly believes that one of the greatest investments one can make is in the future of the our young people. He is also the author of "Fire and Focus".

Along with a youth rally on Friday to be held at Radnor Road Christian Fellowship on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish, Pastor Lowe said there will also be a youth party for those between the ages of 13 and 19 years old at the Number One Shed on Front Street.

The conference is open to all denominations and is free of charge.
