Letters to the Editor

A walk through Hamilton forces pen to paper on the issue of noise. Why is it Mr. and Mrs. Public are subjected to car stereo noise so loud we have to cross the street, or wait till the light turns green to converse, so loud the nuts and bolts are vibrating loose on these cars. I have to wonder what the mindset is of people sitting at red lights in Hamilton with their stereos so loud they can't talk to each other in the same car, it's ridiculous. This childish and arrogant behaviour should not have to be tolerated by Mr. and Mrs. Public taxpayer.

Turn down car stereos!

Dear Sir,

A walk through Hamilton forces pen to paper on the issue of noise. Why is it Mr. and Mrs. Public are subjected to car stereo noise so loud we have to cross the street, or wait till the light turns green to converse, so loud the nuts and bolts are vibrating loose on these cars. I have to wonder what the mindset is of people sitting at red lights in Hamilton with their stereos so loud they can't talk to each other in the same car, it's ridiculous. This childish and arrogant behaviour should not have to be tolerated by Mr. and Mrs. Public taxpayer.

I can hear this noise in the bank, post and restaurants, enough already! To you guilty ones, turn it down. To the powers that be, Mr. Scott, Dr. Gibbons, and Mr. J. Smith, are you deaf?

Every man for himself

Dear Sir,

What I am about to say should alarm Bermuda very much because it will happen. In four years time we will have hundreds and hundreds of students reaching 18 who will want to get married, have cars and will have to live where? A ageing population that need somewhere to go (reasonable). It's bad now what about this next four years from now. We are grossly over populated for our size and should have had a kerb on guest workers years ago and no families allowed, choice of one or two for business and to be satisfied to make less money ... a half of a loaf is better than none at all. So it's up to the Immigration to kerb it I see all sorts of excuses and tricks by certain business. We did without before we can do it now or we will be in big trouble. Bermuda is not a holiday place anymore, it's every one climbing over each other to become rich overnight and who suffers? The low income Bermudians. So something has to be done now. Not when it's out of control. No matter what government is in power its not going to be easy, but something must be done and right away. And do not listen to 'who me' excuses. We are all suffering out here.
