Mr. Simons told that he sought clarification from Police on the legality of the event ? but had not received an answer.

?I do not want to have it and then 50 Police officers turn up,? said Mr. Simons.

?I am raising money for charity so it will not profit me in anyway, but I need to know whether it is legal or not.?

When contacted by, a Police spokesman confirmed that senior officers were unsure about the legality of the event and were waiting for clarification on the matter from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

But by Press time last night nobody from the Bermuda Police Service had contacted Mr. Simons to advise him on whether the event should still be held.
