Tannock named Junior Minister

Senator Raymond Tannock has been appointed the Junior Minister of Housing within the Ministry of Works and Engineering.

Premier Alex Scott made the announcement yesterday and follows the creation of the special post in November this year. Senator Tannock will be answerable to the Minister of Housing, Ashfield DeVent.

Other Senators who have been given additional responsibilities include Senator Reginald Burrows who is now responsible for the Ministries of Labour, Home Affairs and Public Safety and Environment, Senator Larry Mussenden for Justice, the Cabinet Office and its five Service Departments and Legislative Affairs, Senator Walter Roban for Health and Family Services, Education and Tourism and Transport and Senator Neville Tyrrell who will be responsible for Community Affairs and Sport and Telecommunications and e-Commerce.

Senator Tannock is currently the Junior Minister for the Ministry of Finance. Premier Alex Scott said Senator Tannocks? appointment to the Housing Portfolio would help champion the efforts on behalf of the Government to deliver affordable housing to the residents of Bermuda.
