More work is needed before Bermuda bridges the social and economic gap between whites and blacks.

Community Affairs Minister Dale Butler made the comment as he presented the State of the Races booklet, compiled by the Commission for Unity and Racial Equality (CURE), in the House of Assembly on Friday.

Mr. Butler said: ?These tables illustrate the longstanding disparity between the races in terms of wealth, education and employment levels. The clearly signifies that there is much work for our community to do, if the historically disadvantaged population of Bermuda is to ever reach true social and economic parity..?
