Auditions have ended and Tourism expects to announce who will be the ?Voice of Bermuda? within the next few weeks, a Department spokesperson said yesterday.

About 100 individuals from a cross-section of the community showed up at the Ministry of Tourism on Thursday and Friday evenings to audition as the Voice of Bermuda, or the voice which will be used to represent the Island in their International Advertising Campaign. The person selected will do voice-overs for ads such as ?Putting Distance?, an ad describing the Island as just ?putting distance? from the East Coast of the US, among others.

The spokesperson said the Ministry was ?very pleased? with the response, and the Department will now evaluate the submissions before making a determination.

The Voice of Bermuda should be chosen within two or three weeks, she said.
