NCL denies report of death on ship

Rumours of a cruise ship passenger being killed during a storm at sea last week are false, according to Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL).

A spokesperson from Norwegian also agreed with Coast Guard assessments that their ship, the , experienced 20-25 foot waves in the storm encountered en route to Boston from Bermuda, despite accounts from passengers who said authorities downplayed the severity of the storm.

The Coast Guard said two windows on the fifth deck of the 680-foot ship were shattered in the storm, causing minor injuries to one man.

However, passengers told the Boston Herald that during the ?cruise from hell? an adolescent boy had broken his arm, and that one passenger had allegedly died during the storm.

Passengers likened the experience to the Poseidon Adventure and described the chaos which they said broke out on the ship during the storm.

?No one died,? a NCL spokesperson told Monday night. The spokesperson also said NCL is not aware if a boy had broken his arm.

The cruise line?s guest relations department has received letters from passengers regarding the incident, the spokesperson said.
