Storm blamed for bad weather
The remnants of a tropical storm to the south of Bermuda was responsible for the torrential rain which lashed the Island yesterday.
But Bermuda Weather Service said yesterday we should see fewer showers today and the weekend should be quite sunny, although there will still be strong winds on Saturday.
Although many parts of the Island were drenched yesterday, by late afternoon just 0.02 inches had fallen in St. David's, near the Weather Service at the Airport.
Meteorologist Elizabeth Nelson said yesterday's heavy rain was caused by remnants of the tropical storm Nicholas to the south, combined with a cold front approaching from the west, but which was fading.
"There will probably be a few showers tomorrow (today) but probably not as wet as it is today," said Ms Nelson yesterday.
"For the weekend, a large area of high to the north should give us relatively sunny weather, but it will be quite windy on Saturday, and by Sunday the winds should have started to decrease."
Downpours have caused the rescheduling of Belco's rehabilitation programme.

The areas affected are Sound View Road, Temple Lane, Hartle Drive, Heathcote Hill, Heathcote Drive, Sandtrap Hill, Sound View Drive, Valley Lane, Spire View Lane, Davis Drive, Cooks Hill Road, Tranquility Hill, Peach Tree Lane, Gwelly Lane, Saltsca Lane and Loyalty Drive.
