A woman was in the Intensive Care Unit yesterday after another driver careened onto her side of the road and collided with her car yesterday afternoon.

The accident took place on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish at the top of Gate Hill several minutes before 1.30 p.m. Police said it appeared the driver of a vehicle travelling east lost control of the vehicle. They veered into the westbound lane where they collided with the driver of the car.

Traffic was held up along North Shore as the woman was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for tests. Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact P.c. Watson at St. George's Police Station on 297-1122.
