Cedar forest lecture
BUEI International Advisor and renowned scientist Steve Blasco will be showing rarely seen footage of the remains of a cedar forest found 30 feet underwater off Bermuda at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) next week.
Mr. Blasco's lecture, part of the BUEI Lecture Series, is entitled `Bermuda's Sunken Cedar Forest' and will touch on global warming and the effects of it on Bermuda.
The footage of the cedar forest is a part of a current study that Mr. Blasco is involved in which is determining the effects of global warming on Bermuda, and the east coast of Canada.
The one-night only lecture will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. Following the lecture will be a buffet dinner at La Coquille Restaurant.
Tickets are $10 for BUEI members and $15 for non-members. Dinner tickets are $29.75 and are available in the Oceans Gift shop.
