Students dig archeology
A dozen young students are getting their hands dirty during an Bermuda Trust sponsored-archaeological dig and summer camp in Somerset this week.
The students, aged 11 to 14 years-old, are part of an excavation to uncover the history of the 300-year-old Springfield property, now being used as the West End Community Centre.
Trustee Amanda Outerbridge said she was surprised when half-a-dozen older teenagers showed up to help out.
"Students are having the opportunity for first-hand experience on an archaeological site with Anna Agbe-Davies and her husband, Eric Deetz, professional archaeologists from Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown, Virginia," Mrs. Outerbridge said.
