A Police investigation has been launched after a woman was seriously sexually assaulted on Wednesday night.

The 19-year-old Devonshire woman was physically assaulted and abducted from a residence on North Shore Road in Devonshire around 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

She was taken to another location and sexually assaulted.

A man is assisting Police with inquiries into this incident.
