What they had to say about magic:

Kyle Monkman (11): "I feel glad about magic. I learned about tricks like the prediction trick, which I did at the magic show and I did an elevator trick. I learn some other tricks which I did not do but I had fun learning them. During the camp I learned lots of new things and some things that were easy but looked hard. To be a good magician you have to have fast hands and have to be flexible. My favourite is the card tricks."

Roger Moniz (13): "Some things are hard like double lifting. I do stage magic acts and close-up. I'll practice by myself and when I'm ready I'll show my whole family, that is how I know if the trick is good enough to do it to other people. You have to be fast and have good hands."

Kylisha Julio (13): "I like mesmerizing people, they're always like 'how did you do that?'. I've always been interested in magic because I had weird interests as a kid, I even had a rock collection. I'm not really a follower, but I'm not really a leader, just sort of in betweenish. It (magic) is not really easy at first, but it gets easier as you keep practising. You have to be quick with your hands. I'm going to do the next workshop, it was a lot of fun, I got to meet new people and make new friends."

Jasmyn Tucker (14): "I do some card tricks from last year in the camp and I'm just learning a few tricks that Victor gave us at the end of the show. I find it fun. My older brothers try to figure out things and say 'oh, you're not doing it right' and will try to guess it, but I do it so fast they can't guess it. My other brother goes 'I'll give you $50 if you show me one of your tricks' but I was like 'no, that's okay'."

Thomas Gutteridge (12): "Magic is an illusion, most people realise it. It's interesting, you meet people and it's cool to see the tricks they are doing. Some of the younger kids who take the workshop will probably tell their parents how they do a trick, but it's not as fun to do if somebody knows exactly what you are doing. My dad worked out a couple of my card tricks."
