Charged over `attempted death'

A Warwick man was charged in Magistrates' Court with attempting to cause the death of a Somerset man. Brandon Brocket, 19, was not required to enter a plea as the offence will be tried in the Supreme Court.

The court heard that on December 20 of last year Brocket allegedly attempted to cause the death of Jelani Butler and wounded him with the intent of grievous bodily harm.

Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves released Brocket on $2,500 bail and adjourned the matter until April 2 when he will reappear for mention.
