Nightclub owner in court

Champions nightclub owner Delvin Bean could have the book thrown at him after being charged a series of book-keeping offences.

He is charged with having non members in a members club outside of permitted hours, failing to maintain a proper minutes book, failing to maintain a subscriptions book, failing to have an honorary members book, and failing to maintain account books on September 7, 2002.

He is also charged with failing to provide these books to the Commissioner of Police on February 28, 2003. He also faces a charge of failing to adhere to his licence.

Mr. Bean, 36, of Colony Valley, Southampton, pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was bailed to face trial on April 24, when he appeared in Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

On the same date Ralph Hill, 43, of Hidden Lane, Pembroke, will face trial for unlawfully assaulting Mr. Bean on November 22 last year. Mr. Hill denied the charge and was bailed for $500.
