Filing problems causes court delay

Seven new cases set for yesterday?s Supreme Court arraignments were rolled over to next Monday after the Department of Public Prosecutions encountered filing problems. Crown counsel Juan Wolffe apologised to the court for having to push the cases back but Acting Chief Justice Norma Wade Miller allowed the delay.

Eleven people showed up including , 38, , 39, both of Belmer Drive, Devonshire, and , 31, of Serpentine Road, Pembroke. All three are accused of conspiracy to import a controlled drug. Both Stovell and Flood face two charges of supply of a controlled drug to another.

, 27, of Derwent Lane, Devonshire is charged with 38 counts of fraud. Her bail was extended yesterday.

A 23-year-old man accused of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon was remanded in custody.

, of Roberts Avenue, Devonshire, is accused of robbing a 71-year-old woman at knife point.

All seven cases will be mentioned on March 8.
