A 25-year-old man was treated in hospital for stab wounds after an incident over the weekend, police said yesterday.

A police spokesman said: “Details are limited at this time. However, it is understood that the man sustained a serious stab wound to his chest – although at last check, the injury was described as not life threatening.”

He added: “Around 2.50am yesterday (Sunday), police officers were dispatched to the hospital to make initial inquiries, but few details regarding the circumstances were available at that time.

“It is believed that the Sandys parish resident was in the Somerset Road, Cambridge Road area late Saturday night and/or early Sunday morning, before being transported to hospital by a private car.”
