Dear Sir,

I would like to know why The Royal Gazette has been so biased in its reporting of the risks and benefits of this Covid-19 vaccination.

There has been no statement in your paper which says that this is an experimental gene therapy that has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. You use the words “ill-advised” to describe those who do not get vaccinated yet the truth is that there is only a small proportion of the population that is at risk of dying from Covid. Why have you not reported that Covid-19 is 99 per cent curable and that a good percentage of the population has chosen not to be a part of the experiment and with good reason? How they would rather use safer and less riskier methods of treatment. There is Ivermectin and other drugs that have a proven track record and there is the proven method of building up one's own immune system which "naturally" fights all diseases and viruses.

This is supposedly a health problem but it has become politicized and The Royal Gazette is promoting the Government’s narrative — Get vaccinated! Save lives! The truth is vaccinated people and by the way fully vaccinated people have gotten Covid and can spread Covid. So why the big deal if someone chooses not to be vaccinated ? Why are they villainised? Apparently, this call to immunisation has a lot of cracks and faults, and a lot of fearmongering is being used to coerce people into getting vaccinated. The most appalling of which is the call to vaccinate children when they are not at risk of dying from Covid. To include them in this experiment is horrific!

There are many violations of the Nuremberg Code taking place. Why are people not being told the risks and not just the so called benefits of this vaccination? I could go on and on, but I would just want to express my opinion on what I see happening in this island and my disgust with some of our government's practices. There are many who share my opinion who may not have the courage to speak about it.

Editor’s note: The Royal Gazette supports the free exchange of opinions and beliefs and has always reported that the Covid-19 vaccines were approved under emergency authorisations, albeit after extensive testing. There are individuals who desire further testing and evidence of their efficacy before using them and that is their right. However, from an editorial perspective — as opposed to news reporting — this newspaper, after looking at the evidence available, concluded and has argued that the best way for Bermuda and the world to return to a state of near normality is for the community to reach as quickly as possible as high a level of immunisation as possible. While this will never fully prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the evidence, which continues to mount, demonstrates that this is the most effective way of limiting its spread and of mitigating against its symptoms, which include death.
