A 68-year-old woman was found dead in a Hamilton park today, police said.

A police spokeswoman said emergency services attended the Queen Elizabeth Park off Hamilton’s Queen Street about 2.15pm.

The spokeswoman added: “On arrival, medical personnel determined that there were no signs of life present and death was certified at the scene by the police medical doctor.”

She said part of the park was cordoned off while forensic experts examined the scene.
