Prospect 1 Hamilton Parish 1

A 70th minute John Richmond strike denied promotion bound Hamilton Parish a golden opportunity to reclaim sole possession of top place in the First Division standings and strengthen their claim on the league championship at Police Field yesterday.

Allowed to drift freely deep down the Parish right flank, Richmond sent over what at first appeared to be an inviting cross which caught `keeper Jeremy Fray napping off his line. The hard-working forward's lofted effort soared over the head of a back-peddling Fray and into the net.

Clevon Hill had provided Parish with a 14th-minute lead after he carved his way through a maze of Prospect legs on the edge of the 18-yard box and stroked the ball past the outstretched hands of Khun Evans with a firm low drive.

However, after jumping out to that early lead and virtually setting up camp in Prospect's half of the pitch, Peppers repeatedly failed to convert their chances.

And in the end it proved costly as FA Cup finalists Prospect were able to regroup and earn a share of the spoils.

Witnessing his team's fifth draw in their last seven outings, Parish coach Neil (Diamond) Robinson was quick to concede that his side should have long had the league championship sewn up.

"We should not have to wait until the last game of the season," he lamented. "When you are on top of the game you must put your chances away. But unfortunately that's what happens when you miss chances - they come back to haunt you. And we have no one to blame but ourselves."

Parish and leaders Southampton Rangers will now battle right down to the wire to determine just who walks away with the league championship.

Parish must take maximum points off St.George's in their season finale at St.John's Field on Wednesday night and hope that Prospect put the brakes on Southampton who close out their season the same night at nearby BAA Field. Peppers currently trail leaders Southampton only on goal difference.

"We still want to end the season on a positive note and achieve the double (First Division League and Shield)," declared Robinson. "But it's all up to the players. They are the ones who are on the pitch."

Paget 6 Wolves 4

David Hunt grabbed a quickfire first-half hat -trick, Nathan Simons converted two penalties and Chris Anderson notched a late goal to guide Paget to this 6-4 come-from-behind win over Wolves at White Hill Field.

Vince Minors gave Wolves a sixth-minute lead only for Paget to get back on level terms ten minutes later courtesy of Simons who smashed home the first of two spot-kicks.

All of Paget's hard work was quickly undone seconds later when Minors bagged his second goal to restore Wolves' lead.

However, Hunt left the visitors stunned as he converted in the 39th and 40th minutes before capping an outstanding performance with his third just prior to half-time.

Minors then helped himself to a hat-trick of his own in the 70th minute to bring Wolves to within a goal of Paget's lead before second-half substitute Shawn Burrows levelled the score with a 73rd minute strike.

But Paget were determined not to be denied as Simons and Anderson fired two late killer blows.
