The fast ferry Serenity came to the assistance of a stranded boat this week, towing the vessel to Cavello Bay.
It is understood that the boat, which was piloted by a father with his two sons on board, ran into trouble while in the Great Sound and called his wife, who he knew would be taking the 5.30pm Somerset ferry home.
She told crew members, who passed the information on to the captain, who in turn changed course to help the stricken vessel, towing it to Cavello Bay.
