The RG/BSX Index climbed 26.82 (1.06 per cent) to close at 2,556.40 on a volume of 2,289 ($74,764) on the Bermuda Stock Exchange. The one stock to climb was Bank of Butterfield, up 50 cents to close at $36.50.
On the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield rose 89 cents (2.46 per cent) to close at $37.
The BSX Insurance Index was not quoted.
