Valaris announces drillship contract award
Bermuda-based Valaris Limited, the offshore drilling services company, has been awarded a contract with Petrobras offshore Brazil for the drillship Valaris DS-4.
The company said that the contract is for a minimum term of 548 days, and it is anticipated that it will start by the second quarter next year.
Valaris said that the rig is currently preservation stacked in the United Kingdom and will transit to the Canary Islands, where it will be reactivated and then mobilised to Brazil.
Valaris bills itself as the industry leader in offshore drilling services across all water depths and geographies.
Operating a high-quality rig fleet of ultra-deepwater drillships, versatile semisubmersibles and modern shallow-water jackups, Valaris has experience operating in nearly every big offshore basin.
