A crypto-finance company operating in Bermuda has donated 100 meals to frontline healthcare workers.

The meals were delivered to staff at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital’s intensive care unit through the Meal Train programme, which asks contributors to buy takeout meals at island restaurants which are then delivered to health staff.

Nicolas Genechesi, the chief executive officer of XBTO International, which is incorporated in Bermuda, said: "XBTO International was honoured to take part in the Meal Train programme.

“It was paramount for our company to seize the opportunity of giving back to our frontline workers at KEMH who have selflessly done the same without reservation over the course of this pandemic."

Nakia Thompson, the company’s human resources officer, added: “Providing lunch for the staff is merely a small token of our appreciation for the unimaginable sacrifices which they have made for our community."

In April XBTO gave $50,000 towards the cost of running KEMH’s vaccination clinic.
