Covid-19: one case recorded, 30 active infections
The health minister tonight renewed her appeal for people to sign up for coronavirus vaccine booster vaccinations.
Kim Wilson was speaking after health officials recorded one new case out of the latest 2,974 test results.
The infection came in from overseas and meant the island has 30 active cases of the coronavirus – down from the 38 reported on Wednesday.
Two people are in hospital, one in intensive care, and there have been nine recoveries since the last update.
Ms Wilson warned that, despite the sharp decline in cases, the island remained in a pandemic situation.
She called for anyone eligible for the booster to register for an appointment on the government website, by calling 444 2498 and choosing option 2, or by e-mail to vaccine@gov.bm.
People aged 65 or more can walk into Pier 6 in Hamilton for the booster.
The island has logged 5,715 infections since the pandemic hit last March and Covid-19 is linked to 106 deaths.
Vaccination status for the remaining cases showed that 86 per cent of cases from overseas were in fully vaccinated people.
In on-island transmissions or cases under investigation, 83 per cent were in people not fully vaccinated.
The Delta variant of the virus accounted for all the active cases where typing is available.
The seven-day average of Bermuda’s real-time reproduction rate is 0.4 and the island's country status remained “community transmission”.
