Mathew Kelly has been appointed to head the real estate team at Hamilton Legal, the new law firm set up by veteran practitioner Max Quin.

Mr Quin was previously a consultant at Wakefield Quin.

The firm, which specialises in real estate, has also hired Liz Lopes, a veteran in the real estate field, as a senior property assistant.

Mr Kelly has more than 20 years' experience in property law.

He said: "I welcome the opportunity to be joining at the ground level to help establish and grow the new firm.

“Being based centrally at 73 Front Street means we are close to the key players in the market like the realtors and lenders.

“It's a particularly exciting time given that real estate has experienced high levels of activity in recent years."

Mr Kelly qualified as a real estate solicitor in England and Wales in 2002 and worked at the international law firm Hammonds before moving to Bermuda in 2010.

The firm said he has been practising in Bermuda as a senior real estate attorney for the past 11 years.
