Christmas comes early to Court Street at outdoor market with prizes on offer
Open air markets for the merchants of Court Street have returned with a double Christmas extravaganza scheduled for this weekend.
Gary Augustus, a businessman who owns the Connections clothes store and Soul Food Grill on Court Street, said there was a “sense of excitement” among retailers about the market, the third of its kind this year.
Mr Augustus added: “People have been kept at home – this is a chance to come out and see what’s on sale in a safe and friendly environment.”
He added: “It’s also a chance to choose Bermuda and support local businesses.”
The holiday gift shopping will also feature a prize-packed festive draw organised by North Hamilton businesses.
More than 50 vendors will set up booths and tables on Court Street between Dundonald and Elliott Streets from noon until 6pm on Sunday.
The event will be followed on December 19 with a late-night market from noon until 8pm.
Live music added for the market closest to Christmas.
Police patrols will keep an eye on the two blocks open for pedestrian shopping at both events.
Shoppers spending $25 or more can enter a draw for prizes including a 65in TV, a digital air fryer and dinner for two.
For a chance to win a PlayStation 5, shoppers have to spend $25 at both markets – or spend $25 apiece in stores and at the outdoor market on Sunday.
