The Government has named Malika Cartwright as the new director of the Department of Workforce Development.

Mrs Cartwright previously worked with the Bermuda Hospitals Board and had earlier served as the executive director of the Bermuda Hospitality Institute.

A spokesman for the department said she officially assumed the post on November 1 and would report to the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Labour, Collin Anderson.

The spokesman added: “Mrs Cartwright is an experienced career development, hospitality, and communications professional.

“Driven by her passion for helping others achieve their goals, she takes great pride in providing the best possible service and support.

“As the director of Workforce Development, her goals include executing a strategy that prepares Bermudians for the opportunities available now and into the future and supporting her team as they navigate these difficult times.”
