Thousands of film fans were able to watch some festive favourites at an open-air event over the weekend.

Tamara Bradshaw, the senior events and marketing coordinator at the City of Hamilton, which organised the three night event, said last night it was “a huge success”.

Ms Bradshaw said: “There were approximately 700 vehicles over three nights, averaging four to five people per car.

“We want to thank everyone who came out to support local businesses and share in the festive spirit as well as our title sponsor HSBC.

“Our fabulous hosts Patrina ”PowerGirl“ and Ed Christopher kept energy levels and spirits high before the movies started with car ‘carol-o-ke’ and bingo. Congratulations to all of our winners.”

The City of Hamilton organised the “Drive-In Pyjama Jam” with banking giant HSBC.

The movie drive-in – that featured Christmas classics such as Home Alone 2, The Grinch, and Love Actually – was held on the top storey of the Bull’s Head car park off Dundonald Street on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
