Kyle hits target in cup triumph
Kyle Lightbourne set Macclesfield Town on their way to FA Cup glory on Saturday, scoring the first of the Silkmen's two goals against non-league Vauxhall Motors.
The victory, secured in the last eight minutes of a match at Moss Rose that was televised in Bermuda, means that Lightbourne and company will now face First Division Watford in the third round.
Apart from one difficult chance in the second period which the Bermudian lofted onto the roof of the net there was little joy for him until he stretched out a boot to divert Matthew Tipton's cross with eight minutes remaining. It was Lightbourne's 15th goal in 23 FA Cup ties since moving to England.
Tipton's late strike then sealed the win.
Meanwhile, Shaun Goater and Manchester City will face Liverpool in the third round.
The mouthwatering match-up will see City boss Kevin Keegan return to his old Anfield stomping ground.
Goater will be in action tonight when City take on Sunderland in the FA Premiership. The match is scheduled to be shown on cable Channel 53 at 4 p.m.
David Bascome scored a hat-trick as the Harrisburg Heat squeezed past the Cleveland Force 14-13 in the Major Indoor Soccer League at the weekend. All the Bermudian's goals came in the first half.
