Dudley Eve Trophy action resumes tomorrow with part two of the holiday saga set to unravel at St. John's Field.

Fans, still gasping for air after a highly entertaining start to this year's campaign at Devonshire Rec on Tuesday night when 13 goals were scored in two matches, might anticipate more drama as one of the sides will be eliminated from the competition in the second game between PHC Zebras and Devonshire Colts.

Zebras were thumped 4-1 by Wolves on Tuesday while Colts went down 5-3 to Devonshire Cougars.

The two winners from Tuesday meet in tomorrow's first match with the victors advancing the two-leg final.

John Barry Nusum of Wolves and Raymond Beach of Cougars took full command of proceedings in the opening games, providing the crowd with a brilliant exhibition of marksmanship, tallying five goals between them.

And they may again be the players to watch tomorrow.

But PHC coach Mark Wade is more concerned about the performance of his own players. "Basically we have got to put our game together," said Wade, realising his side are now in a do-or-die situation.

"Anyone who witnessed our last performance knows that we did not really show up to play.

"We have to execute our game plan and prepare ourselves for the match against Colts who have Damon Ming back. We will be looking to neutralise him and also the service of their forwards."

It remains to be seen if Colts' McKonnen Hollis makes a hasty return from injury, while Kuma Smith will definitely be missing from the line-up through suspension.

In the first match, Wolves, strengthened by the return of All-American striker Nusum, will again rely on the bustling forward to lead from the front while colleague Khari Sharrief sits out the match through suspension.

However, their opponents on the day, fellow Dudley Eve debutants Cougars, have their own arsenal in the form of Heys Wolffe, Mark Smith and Beach, the latter having netted a first-half hat-trick during his team's emphatic win over last year's finalists.

Both teams in this all-Devonshire derby will be looking to secure an early passage into the final and having already secured the all-important first win will be hoping to avoid exhausting themselves via the long route.

This will be the fourth meeting between the two clubs this season and with neither team holding a clear advantage over the other, the clash should again provide plenty of attacking soccer.

Cougars will welcome the return of veteran defender Shawn Smith back into the fold after the stalwart missed several matches through a knee injury suffered during his team's 3-0 win over Dandy Town last month.

Coach Albert Smith said his team were preparing themselves for a tough match, noting they had done their homework on Nusum.

"We would definitely welcome the opportunity to get into the final first to provide a little rest for the players. However, we will have to wait and see come Sunday, but we won't be taking this match lightly," said Smith.
