Scholarships from Pembroke Parish Council available
Residents of Pembroke are being encouraged to apply for Pembroke Parish Council’s scholarships and grants.
Applications for 2022 are now open.
Zyjae Trott-Philip and Daque Davis, the 2021 recipients, were described by the council as examples of “reliance and perseverance”.
Both are enrolled at Bermuda College in the Division of Arts and Science.
Ms Trott-Philip, in the Associate of Science (Nursing) programme, was the recipient of the full scholarship of $6,000 and Ms Davis, in the Associate of Science programme, was the recipient of one of several $1,500 grants.
Ms Davis, who expects to graduate within a year, said: “I’m learning a lot, even though some courses are being held remotely.”
Patricka Ferguson, council chairwoman, said: “We are always delighted to continue to invest in our community and to provide resources to assist in sending some of our finest and most hard-working students to further their education at Bermuda College.
“Although we are in a pandemic, this should not stop one’s dreams of fulfilling higher education goals.
“Shortly, the search for other deserving students will commence, and we hope that others will take advantage of these amazing opportunities and apply before the deadline at the end of March.”
Applications for the scholarships are available via e-mail at ppcscholarships@gmail.com
