Police investigate two vehicle fires

Two fires were tackled by police early on Saturday, including one blaze outside a Warwick residence.

Police and the fire service were called to the scene of a motorcycle on fire at 4.25am on Curving Avenue in Pembroke.

They extinguished the fire and investigators, including the police forensic support unit, processed the scene.

Police and fire officers were called out shortly afterwards at 4.30am to Scott’s Lane North in Warwick, where a car was found on fire after the owner of the home was woken by smoke entering the residence.

Firefighters put out the flames and the scene was forensically processed.

A police spokesman said: “It has been reported that a person was seen in the driveway of the residence where the vehicle was located, shortly before the fire started.

“There were no injuries reported and no fire damage to other property in either incident.”

Both fires are being investigated.

Anyone with information should call 211, or the main police number, 295-0011.
