Ariel Re donates over $16,000 to help families

Ariel Re, the Bermudian-based reinsurer, has partnered with charity advocate Fiona Dill to donate more than $16,000 to Bermudian families through the company’s employee giving campaign.

Ariel Re said it matched the amount of money raised by its employees for the benefit of charitable causes on the island.

Just over $12,000 raised during the campaign purchased vouchers from various local vendors that will be used to contribute to the wellbeing of families experiencing financial and food instability, made worse by the Covid-19 pandemic, the company said.

Ariel Re also made a $4,000 donation to the Transformational Living Centre, a purpose-built housing shelter and facility that seeks to address the growing problem of homelessness among families in Bermuda.

Guests are provided with a range of developmental, educational and therapeutic programmes designed to heal and empower with a goal of achieving self-sufficiency and the capacity to thrive successfully within the broader community, the company said.

Ariel Re chief executive officer Ryan Mather said: “Being a responsible corporate citizen is one of our corporate values, we are committed to making a meaningful contribution to the communities in which we operate and where our employees live and work.

“I am incredibly proud of our employees, who recognise the important role non-profits play in helping our community, and generously stepped up to help support so many families across Bermuda.”

He added: “Our goal is to make many more contributions to help Bermuda families through not only monetary donations, but also volunteering our time in the community.

“We are committed to supporting the organisations that work tirelessly to help people in need.”

Founded in 2005, Ariel Re offers a broad range of insurance and reinsurance solutions and services through its offices in Bermuda, London and Hong Kong.
