The search for a former MP missing since the weekend has moved to the East End, police announced.

A vehicle believed to be owned by Darius Tucker, 56, was seen on CCTV headed out of St George's in to St David's at about 6.50pm on Sunday.

A police spokesman said “all efforts remain concentrated in St David’s”, with a police search on land and the Royal Bermuda Regiment Coastguard searching the coastal area.

Suzann Roberts-Holshouser, a former United Bermuda Party MP for St David’s and later One Bermuda Alliance MP for St George’s South, said: “I am deeply concerned to learn that my colleague and friend Darius Tucker has gone missing.

“We walked many roads together sharing thoughts and aspirations during our many hours of canvassing or walking in the Wilkinson Estate property.”

Ms Roberts-Holshouser said she would “implore anyone who may know where he is to come forward”.

She added: “Darius is a man with a gentle smile and warm heart and would, without doubt, volunteer to go in search, or lend a helping hand to anyone in need.”

Police appealed to people from St David’s with home security cameras to check their footage from 6.40pm on Sunday on to see if they may have captured Mr. Tucker or the white van he was driving when last seen.

The spokesman added Freemasons from Hannibal Lodge in St George’s, and reinsurance firm RenaissanceRe had joined in the search of the East End.

Mr Tucker was said to be 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, brown complexioned and with low cut black hair.

The last confirmed sighting of Mr Tucker was at 4.30pm on Sunday, near Crow Lane in Pembroke.

He was driving a white van with the licence plate IN3074 and the vehicle had a DTS Services logo on the side.

Mr Tucker was elected as the MP for Hamilton South in 2007 for the former United Bermuda Party.

But he left the UBP in 2009 and sat as an independent until he joined the Progressive Labour Party in 2011.

Mr Tucker mounted an unsuccessful campaign for the PLP in Paget West in the 2012 General Election.

Anyone with information on Mr Tucker’s whereabouts should call 211 or the main police number, 295-0011.
