Spiderman to spin his web at Easter movie night in Hamilton
A superhero will hit the silver screen for the Easter weekend after Hamilton City Hall transforms its car park next door into a drive-in movie theatre.
Spiderman will be the main attraction at the Fresh Air Films event on April 16.
Tamara Bradshaw, the corporation’s senior events and marketing co-ordinator, said: “The city really wanted to put on something special for island residents during the Easter weekend.
“The evening will feature two popular new movies and also fun city trivia and delicious food and beverage items for sale.”
The curtain-raiser will be Encanto (PG), a Disney animated hit set in Colombia, at 6.30pm.
Spiderman will make his entrance in Spiderman: No Way Home (PG-13) at 9pm.
Entry to the event is with one receipt per car from any Hamilton business for purchases of at least $25 made between March 14 and April 16.
Film fans should write their name, phone number and e-mail address on the back of the receipt before arrival at the car park to avoid queues.
The receipts will be used for contact tracing purposes if required.
Food and drinks will be available from food retailers, including Ashley’s Lemonade, Speciality Cinema & Grill and Four Star.
