Clarien Iron Kids Triathlon back from two-year break
The Clarien Iron Kids Triathlon is set to return from a two-year hiatus this summer, organisers have announced.
The 32nd edition of the popular event hosted by Clarien Bank in collaboration with the Bermuda Triathlon Association will be held at Southside, St David’s, on June 18.
“The Clarien Iron Kids Triathlon is a beloved event in Bermuda and we are thrilled to welcome back so many young athletes and their families as we continue this time-honoured tradition,” Michael DeCouto, the Clarien Bank Chief Digital and Marketing Officer, commented.
“We celebrate our youth year round through development initiatives and look forward to cheering on our junior triathletes as they return to competition.”
Sharon Hammond, the BTA president, is equally as thrilled to see the event return from a two-year hiatus brought on by the global coronavirus pandemic.
“Our goal is to continue to inspire the junior triathlon spirit in our community, and we encourage children of every ability and experience level to participate,” she said.
“Our team is excited that the event has returned, and we are committed to providing a safe environment for children to compete, have fun and gain first-hand, junior triathlon experience.”
The event is open to children ages 3 to 15 who will compete among four different age categories on various courses.
As well as bragging rights, there will be added incentive for the participants who will also compete for a chance to earn up to a $1,000 Clarien Iron Kids Bank account.
All participants must be aged 3 to 15 on December 31, 2022. Children turning 7 or 11 before December 31 will be required to register in the next age group category.
Registration details will be announced in May.
Those interested in sponsoring the event are urged to contact Chris Williams either at chris@selectsitesgroup.com or 292-9741.
