Money matters - WRC organises wealth classes for women
Two sessions to help women achieve financial independence will be run as part of the latest calendar of events from the Women’s Resource Centre.
Angela Joell, an education and investment manager at Argus Group, will tailor special courses to suit women aged over and under 50.
She said: “I believe that the building of wealth is within the reach of the many.
“Many hope that their finances will sustain them. Hoping alone is not a successful wealth strategy, but choosing well is.
“Once people understand fully how to choose wealth, and decide that this is what they truly want, they are well on their way to financial wellness.
“The rest of the journey is the willingness to act in alignment with that decision.”
Ms Joell added: “My understanding of the journey of decisions and actions to gain financial wellness and financial literacy has become my lifelong passion to share.”
The first session, for women over 50, will be on April 22 from 6pm.
It will cover topics such as how to set out a strategy for financial sustainability as well as how to change an undesirable financial position.
The session will help people understand how to set “specific, realistic financial health and wealth goals”.
It will also look at what types of decisions might have to be made in the years ahead.
Ms Joell said that the course was created to give women peace of mind.
Women under 50 can sign up for a workshop today at 6pm, which will include a talk about “the difference between focus on income versus focus on wealth building”.
The session will cover options and resources that could be available to build wealth portfolios and is expected to help people understand the “traps” that can block wealth creation.
