Mirrors launches act of kindness challenge
A Government youth outreach group has taken the challenge to help rebuild relationships among neighbours – and has encouraged the public to follow suit.
Mirrors helped launch the 60 Day Act of Kindness challenge, which aims to combat antisocial behaviour by helping a neighbourhood become more close-knit.
The initiative was started after Mirrors, a youth empowerment programme, joined forces with community group Imagine Bermuda for a meeting called Pause for Peace.
The meeting, held over Good Friday at Devonshire Recreation Club, tried to address the challenges that many communities faced and explore ways they could support one another in times of need.
A spokesman for Mirrors said: “Kindness is proven to impact an individual's mental and physical wellbeing significantly.
“It can also act as a bridge to form relationships and heal rifts, believing that kindness grows kindness.”
He added: “Mirrors is now thrilled to be a part of this initiative to remind our neighbouring communities that we care.”
Participants were encouraged to participate in small good deeds, such as offering meals to neighbours or people in need and volunteering around the neighbourhood.
Acts of kindness can also be shared over social media using the hashtags #ACommunityThatCaresBermuda, #(parish or neighbourhood name) and #Bermuda2022.
