David Burt, the Premier, will lead a town hall meeting tomorrow where plans for the redevelopment and re-opening of the Fairmont Southampton will be discussed.

Mr Burt will be accompanied by Vance Campbell, the tourism minister, and Chris Furbert, the president of the Bermuda Industrial Union, at the meeting which takes place at 6pm at the Warwick Camp dining hall.

The meeting follows approval by MPs of the tax concessions valued at more than $120 million on Friday.

Mr Burt said: “The redevelopment of the Fairmont Southampton is critical to Bermuda’s tourism industry.

“Thursday’s town hall is an opportunity for the public to ask questions and gather more information about the benefits of this project, which will create jobs, help to increase airlift, and earn money for the country.”

Tomorrow’s meeting will be featured on CITV’s YouTube and Government Facebook platforms.
